In 2012 a Photovoltaic solar and a solar hot water system were installed on the roof of the Danforth building. The Photovoltaic Solar system consists of 80 @ 300 watt solar modules and can produce 24,000 watts of electricity. At full capacity the Photovoltaic solar system can produce around 50% of the Danforth’s building 50,669 watt lighting load. The solar hot water system consist of 27 evacuated tube collector panels and can produce almost 300 million btu’s of hot water annually. At full capacity the solar hot water system provides 100% of the Danforth building’s heating system reheat water and supplements the Administration building heating system’s reheat water.
