McClure Engineering Celebrates 65th Anniversary

65-years-post

January 2018 marks McClure Engineering’s 65th anniversary. The firm was started in January 1953 by Charles (Chuck) J.R. McClure when he and his wife began working out of their home in Kirkwood, Missouri. The first project was a small engineering consultation for the Alton Bank and Trust company in Alton, Illinois. By 1955, the firm had grown to four employees, focusing on HVAC and plumbing. The jobs during the first five years of the company were predominantly schools, churches and generally anything else that would generate revenue for the tiny firm trying to gain a foothold and reputation in the St. Louis engineering marketplace.

Today, the firm employs over 80 people and is located in the historic Cupples 1 Building in the heart of downtown St. Louis. Over the years, we have developed extensive experience in the analysis, testing, evaluation, design and inspection of mechanical and electrical systems producing uniquely superior solutions for building facility engineering problems.

While we have grown in size, our commitment to our clients remains the same. Thank you for 65 years!

“This month marks McClure Engineering’s 65th year. Is 65 years a notable milestone? Well, it certainly is for several of our employees who are approaching the same milestone themselves. And just as they reflect fondly on the family and friends with whom they have shared their journey, I would like to thank those who have shared the McClure journey. While I haven’t known every employee or client along the way, the results of your efforts are evident in the projects completed and the company that has evolved to continue to provide a great place to work for employees and outstanding service to clients.

This moment cannot pass without remembering Chuck McClure and Bill Coad and their lasting impression on our company, our people and our industry. If you knew either man, you know what I mean.

I would also like to thank our consultants, contractors, tradesmen, manufacturers, manufacturer’s reps, suppliers, bankers, real estate professionals, accountants, professional/trade organizations, and everyone else who has worked with us and/or supported us along the way. We hope that we have and will contribute to your success in the future.”
